Project Overview
PROJECT OVERVIEW
We created a series of AV and interactive interactions for the Olympic Spirit galleries which opened in 2019.
The archive-focused AV, ‘Empowering Communities’, is a large scale immersive 180-degree projection exploring personal stories that demonstrate the Olympic Spirit and how it helps communities.
The ‘Meet the Olympians’ interactive booths provide visitors with the opportunity to select athletes from different sports and eras and listen to them talk about the personal meaning of being an Olympic athlete.
A series of designated viewing areas allow visitors to sit and explore stories of ‘Olympic Role Models’ including Usain Bolt, Janica Kostelic, Shiva Keshavan and Kirsty Coventry,, whilst a large circular projection with supporting screens allow groups of visitors to experience ‘Olympic Day Celebrations’ around the world.
Audio was a major component of the seven-gallery experience, and it was important to achieve a musical flow throughout. Soundtracks were synchronised throughout the galleries so that as visitors moved from one space to the other, the thematic musical elements changed imperceptibly.
