The Olympic Journey
2012 Olympic Games, London, UK
Project Overview
PROJECT OVERVIEW
We produced a number of AV exhibits for ‘The Olympic Journey: The Story of the Games’, a temporary exhibition that was shown at the Royal Opera House throughout the London 2012 Olympic Games.
In the Ancient Games gallery, a 3-metre replica vase used original ceramic illustrations to create an impressive 360-degree animation and was accompanied by immersive audio commentary, allowing visitors to experience a thrilling chariot race from the early Olympiad, first hand.
In the Paul Hamlyn Hall, a physical ribbon installation used projection-mapped footage and printed graphic imagery to bring movement and dynamism to the space. Featured content showcased iconic moments in Olympic history and explored the stories behind the gold medals on display in the space. Supporting screen displays relating to specific athlete journeys offered further interpretation.
